Staff Awards Program
Each year, Owl Child Care Services asks parents, children and staff to recognize a deserving teacher by nominating them for one of Owl's Staff Awards.
Parents and children are encouraged to nominate a teacher or a teaching team for the Parent's Choice Awards. Owl also provides employees the opportunity to recognize a peer for one of the following awards: Educational Excellence, President's Award or Teacher of the Year Award
Nomination forms for 2011/12 are being accepted now. The nomination deadline is Friday, February 24, 2012 at 5:00 pm. Completed nomination forms can be placed in a sealed envelope addressed to Kris Parsons, Director of Operations and given to the centre supervisor or e-mailed to kparsons@owlchildcare.org
Awards will be presented at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, April 11, 2012
Parent's Choice Awards
The purpose of this award is to encourage and demonstrate positive relationships with families whose children attend Owl programs. Parents are asked to submit a written nomination for the employee or team they feel deserves this award.

Edcuational Excellence Award
This award has been established to recognize employees who engage in studies during non-duty hours. The purpose of this award is to stimulate and demonstrate the effectiveness of continuing education. Any employee involved in and having reached successful completion of a multi-course/part time educational program (e.g., diploma, degree, certificate program or equivalency) is eligible for this award.

Presidents Award
This award has been established to recognize employees who have made a contribution of time or talents to community betterment through volunteer work in civic or humanitarian activities. Involvement must be performed during non duty hours and may be performed in a professional, charitable or community service organization. The purpose of this award is to stimulate and demonstrate the effectiveness of volunteerism.

Teacher of the Year Award
The employee will have demonstrated outstanding skills in classroom management in the area of planning and preparation. The employee will have demonstrated the ability to work in collaboration with colleagues, parents and community partners. They will have been observed as being highly positive towards children and will have engaged in professional development and leadership that has enhanced early learning and care.
