Annual Report 2010

Owl's Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the fiscal year ending December, 31, 2010 was held on April 13, 2011 at the Lincoln Road
  Chapel in the auditorium.

The business portion of the meeting provided an opportunity for Owl members (that is: families with children in care at Owl) to learn
more about Owl's financial position, the Board of Directors and to provide feedback.

The AGM also provided a great opportunity for member to support our wonderful staff as we celebrated five, ten, fifteen and twenty
year service awards. Parent's Choice Awards, Teacher of the Year Award and several others were also presented.

By-Law Amendments

As a non-profit corporation and registered charity, Owl's Board of Directors must comply with a set of by-laws. The by-laws are like an official game plan on how the corporation is to be run and operated. The by-laws outline the rights and powers of directors, officers and members of the non-profit corporation. Owl's by-laws were created in 1991 when Owl registered as a non-profit corporation. Any amendments to the by-laws must be approved by the Board of Directors and ratified (agreed upon) by the members before they come into force.

At the recent AGM, the Board presented amendments to Owl's By-laws for ratification by the members.

Election of Directors

On April 13, 2011, the members held an election of directors by secret ballot. Of the 11 nominees, seven (7) were elected to Owl's Board of Directors.
