Celine was curious to see what the children would do with paint and paper. The materials were set up on the table, and the children joined in two at a time to take their turns. Aiden dove right in eagerly sticking his hands into the paint and pressing them onto the paper. He splashed around, watching the paint fly everywhere with delight. Once his hands were fully covered, he used them as painting tools, moving them all over the paper. At one point, Aiden took the bowls of paint and poured them directly onto his paper, then continued to spread the colors with his hands. The paint even ended up on the floor, and Aiden used his foot as another painting tool! After the bowls were empty, he stacked them one on top of the other. Thank you, Aiden, for helping to clean up afterward!
Millie began by gently feeling the paint on her hands. She soon switched to the yellow paint, which must have caught her eye, and started applying it to her paper. After observing Aiden pour paint from the bowls, Millie followed his lead. Once her hands were covered in yellow paint, she spread it across her paper with focused attention. She and Aiden also splashed the paint together on the table, enjoying the sensory play.
Clark and Micah V selected their paint thoughtfully. Clark started with the white paint, feeling it between his fingers. He scooped up handfuls and placed them beside his paper on the table, splashing in the paint repeatedly. He later picked up the bowl and watched the paint drip onto his paper. He then switched to green, dipping his hand directly into the bowl and smearing it across his page. Eventually, he poured the green paint onto his paper and spread it around, even painting on his smock. I wonder, were you testing whether your smock could keep the paint off of you, Clark?
