Adventures in the Great Outdoors!

Program Name: Toddler 2

"Play is the highest form of research" - Albert Einstein

Outdoor play in a childcare setting is pivotal for healthy child development, offering numerous physical, cognitive, and social-emotional benefits. It fosters physical activity, encourages exploration and interaction with the natural world, and provides opportunities for learning and developing essential skills.

Outdoor play stimulates curiosity, problem-solving, and creativity. It allows children to explore different environments, experiment with loose parts (like sticks, rocks, and sand), and engage in imaginative play.

The natural environment offers sensory-rich experiences, from the feel of the wind and sun to the sounds of nature and the textures of different materials.

Engaging in "risky play" helps children develop body awareness, assess risks, and build confidence and resilience.

This summer we will be branching out of the playground to venture on walks throughout the neighborhood. This provides explorative opportunities within our community. We will also be bringing indoors to outdoors with daily provocations. This will be an exciting summer to create fun filled memories with the children before they move up to preschool.
