We’ve had a fantastic start to the 2025/26 after-school year! One of our first priorities has been getting to know the children’s interests so we can customize our activities, art supplies, and toy carts to what they enjoy most. We’ve quickly discovered that the children are especially drawn to outdoor play. Games like Gaga Ball, Wall-Ball, Cross Canada, gymnastics, and other active challenges have been huge hits. Due to this, we have made the decision to spend more time outside where their engagement and energy truly shine. We’ve also embraced outdoor snack times, turning them into fun picnics that everyone enjoys.
Beyond encouraging their gross motor development, outdoor play has sparked lots of imaginative and creative experiences. The children have been enjoying various crafts and recently created a “big chalk city” where they drive their toy cars through roads and buildings of their own design.
Looking ahead, we plan to introduce a wider variety of physically engaging outdoor games to continue movement, teamwork, and imaginative play. Our goal is to keep the children active, curious, and creatively inspired every day.
