World Travels - Italy

School-age 1

In School-age 1 we have begun our “World Travels” Each and every month throughout the school year, the group will be exploring and “travelling” to various countries across the globe. In the month of October our group has been exploring Italy. We have engaged in various activities such as creating our own guitars and creating our official passports and plane tickets. We were treated to a special experience as Josephine had just returned from her own world travels and one of her stops was Italy. She was able to share with the children various photos, and even a few souvenirs. During one particular afternoon, the group began conversation about how we would be able to travel across the world to Italy if we didn’t have a plane. This promoted the educators to gather materials in order to work alongside the children to create their very own plane. Using cardboard and tape the group designed their own aircraft, suited for space for 1 pilot and 3 passengers. Taking turns we mimicked the sound of an aircraft taking off using the iPad and we were off. We cannot wait to see where our travels take us!
