Tell us a bit about yourself and why you chose RisingOaks Early Learning for your family’s child care needs?

As a mom of two who previously attended RisingOaks, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact this organization has on children and families. The care, support, and educational foundation my kids received were invaluable, especially to a working mother like myself. I knew that my children were in excellent care when I'd drop them off every morning. My children formed memories and relationships that have made an impact on them.

What would you say to a member who is contemplating joining the board but is not sure what they can bring to the table or whether they have the right skill set?

I’d encourage you to take the leap. RisingOaks thrives because of the diverse perspectives and experiences brought by its members, and no one needs to be an expert in governance to make a meaningful impact. The willingness to learn, collaborate, and share ideas is just as important as specific skills, and the structure of this board makes sure every member is equipped to make a difference.

What is a favourite book that you've enjoyed reading with your child?

My favourite book to read with my children is The Giving Tree. It is a timeless classic that beautifully captures themes of love, generosity, and selflessness. Reading it with my children sparks meaningful conversations about kindness, appreciation, and the evolving nature of relationships.
