Over the past few weeks, the children in After School 3 have been busy exploring, creating, and working together. They took part in many hands-on activities that helped them share ideas and try new things.
During our spring art activities, the children made flowers, butterflies, and other seasonal crafts. They stamped pop bottles to create cherry blossom trees and painted colourful eggs for Easter. They enjoyed painting, stamping, and mixing colors while improving their fine motor skills, focus, and attention to detail, and expressing their individual creativity.
Recently, the children used Model Magic to create their own spring-inspired pieces. Some chose to paint them with watercolours, while others chose to leave them white. Their ideas were creative and witty: one child made a snake and explained that garden snakes come out in spring, while another made a pizza, sharing that spring is a time to enjoy making and eating food outside.
The children also planted pea seeds and learned how to take care of them by watering gently and talking about how plants grow. With the nice spring weather, playing outdoors became even more enjoyable, and the children stayed active by playing soccer, practicing shooting hoops, playing catch with a tennis ball, and even choreographing group dances together.
These experiences helped the children build creativity, confidence, and friendships while
having fun.
