Greetings from the School Age Two Program!

Program Name: School-age 2

We have been thrilled to welcome all students back to the program. It was evident just how much the children had missed each other. We were equally excited to make new friends and meet our new educators. From the beginning, the children joined the program with strong enthusiasm and a positive attitude. They showed genuine interest in the activities prepared by their educators.
We believe that the best learning opportunities happen through play and everyday routines, that offer rich opportunities for growth and development. With this in mind, our program has been designed to meet the children’s personal interests, as well as their physical and emotional needs.

By the second week of September, we had a full program! We felt then was the time to gather as a group to connect and to learn more about the program’s routines and expectations. During this time, the children shared stories from their summer and what they enjoyed most. As we continued, the conversation naturally shifted toward feelings and emotions about the new school year.

It was inspiring to watch the children open up about what makes them feel happy, excited, anxious, and even worried. Their willingness to share reminded us how open communication fosters understanding and strengthens relationships.

Here are some of their thoughts:
Kinley: “I could not sleep well because I was so excited to see all my friends.”
Ruke: “I was happy to see my new class, but I was nervous to meet my new teachers.”
Rudra: “I was sad and scared to start grade two, but I like it now.”
Alexander: “I was so excited to start because I get to play soccer with my before- and after-school friends.”
Elena: “I was excited to meet my friends, and I like making new friends.”

This child-led conversation helped the group explore emotions together and build empathy and understanding. It was a wonderful reminder that when children feel safe, respected, and heard, they thrive!

In our program, we are committed to creating an environment where every child feels happy, supported, and valued. We look forward to a rewarding and enriching school year together.
