Painting With Flowers

Print
Program Name: Preschool 1

Springtime magic unfolds as Preschool 1 children explored painting with flowers. The children first wondered why we were using flowers for painting and not paint brushes. The educator shared to them that there are different ways we can make art, and using different materials for paint can be an exciting process and experience! With the use of some flowers the children discovered different textures, patterns, and colours as they painted on a big sheet of butcher paper.

The activity was also done outside which allowed the children to enjoy the beautiful sunshine as they engaged in the activity. While painting, there were giggles, a few dance moves, and conversations amongst the children, “Look at my flowers! It turned pink!”, cheered by one of them. The children also observed how the different colours of paint mixed together and how the flowers turned into beautiful shades of colour.

This process art activity allowed the children to freely make their own choices without worrying about the end result, further, the children were given the opportunity to freely express their creativity and imagination and see where it can take them!
