In School-age 3, we had a colorful and kind-hearted month as we celebrated Pride! The children got creative making bright, rainbow-themed posters with messages like “Be Kind” and “Everyone Belongs.” They also worked together to build a Rainbow Paper Chain of Kindness. Each link included sweet messages and kind actions the children thought of on their own. Interestingly, some children chose to leave a few chain links blank. When asked why, they explained that the empty links represent kindness that hasn’t happened yet, things we can still do to help others feel included and loved. We were so inspired by their thoughtful reflections!
Throughout the month, we also read storybooks about friendship, families of all kinds, and being proud of who we are, which sparked amazing conversations. Children shared powerful ideas about standing up for others and celebrating differences. It’s been a joyful way to build community, learn about love and acceptance, and have fun doing it.
These experiences help promote empathy, respect, and a strong sense of community.
Thank you for being part of our inclusive and caring learning space!
