This month children were invited to explore and create using Model Magic clay. As the activity began, each child eagerly selected their favourite colour and started expressing their ideas in unique and imaginative ways. Some children began by rolling the clay into balls, while others experimented with mixing colours to create beautiful patterns and colourful designs. A few children carefully shaped their clay into snakes and "wormies" while one child proudly created his own toy using the clay. Throughout the exploration, the children demonstrated curiosity, creativity, and confidence as they manipulated and transformed the clay using their hands and fingers. They were deeply engaged in the sensory experience, noticing how the clay could stretch, roll, flatten, and change shape. The children also explored colour combinations and shared their ideas with friends, encouraging communication and social interaction. This hands-on experience supported the development of fine motor skills as the children rolled, squeezed, pinched, and shaped the clay. These movements strengthened the small muscles in their hands and fingers, which are important for future writing and self-help skills. The activity also encouraged problem-solving and imaginative thinking as children experimented with different ways to create objects and designs. Most importantly, this open-ended art experience fostered self-expression and creativity. Each child was able to explore at their own pace and bring their own ideas to life in a meaningful way. Through collaborative conversations and shared discoveries, the children built confidence, strengthened peer connections, and experienced the joy of creative exploration.
