This month, the children participated in a fun and creative poster-making activity. The children were encouraged to create posters about things they enjoy and love. This activity gave children the opportunity to express their interests, ideas, and personalities through art and conversations with their peers. Chayce chose hockey as the main theme of his poster. He carefully added hockey cutouts, drawings, and shared stories about his favourite hockey moments. He excitedly talked about meeting famous hockey players and explained why hockey is special to him. Fred and Iggy also explored their interest in sports by creating baseball-themed posters. Kayleb used many Pokémon characters in his poster and confidently talked about their abilities and how he remembers all their names. Similarly, Jaxson and Fred showed their growing interest in creative cursive writing as they made all the titles in a beautiful way. This activity supported children’s creativity, communication, confidence, fine motor skills, and self-expression. Children also practiced sharing ideas, listening to others, and making meaningful connections between their interests and learning experiences. In the future, we can expand on this learning by encouraging children to create group posters, write short descriptions about their favourite topics, and participate in discussions by using these posters.
