Watch me sign!

  • Infant

Dear Mom and Dad! Have you seen me sign lately? In our room we have been working very hard on our expressive language and all the signs we use to compliment our communication skills. We are working on colours now that we have most of the signs down pat that we need to express ourselves at mealtimes. When our educators play music for us we are more involved when the songs are with coordinating actions and we often request specific books and tunes with the sign me know. There is no need to worry about us using our signs right now as it helps us as we figure out the verbal development, it will not hinder our ability to learn the spoken language. Sign language helps our self confidence. It is good for early literacy and it helps strengthen our bond.  Maybe we could use this link to work on some signs together. My educators found it on YouTube. sign language for kids/ASL Basics/Sign language for beginners with teacher Sabrina.
