School-age 3

In preparation for our Halloween celebration, the children enthusiastically embraced the challenge of designing and facilitating their own Halloween-themed games for their peers to enjoy. This hands-on project integrated creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. The process began with a group brainstorming session, where students shared imaginative ideas such as adapting a game from a popular video game, designing a tossing game, and developing a sensory-based game where players had to guess the object they were feeling. Sloane inquired about what spooky materials could be used for her sensory activity, demonstrating curiosity and a desire to engage others. Using recycled materials, cardboard boxes, paint, and craft supplies, the students worked together to bring their game concepts to life. Throughout the construction process, they demonstrated teamwork and ingenuity, adjusting their designs as needed based on testing and feedback. Once the games were complete, students set up their stations, explained the rules to visiting groups, and facilitated gameplay by keeping score and encouraging participation. Their leadership and communication skills were on full display as they guided others through their activities.
